Keyland plans to create more than 5,000 jobs across five Leeds development sites

Keyland Developments has revealed that it plans to help create around 5,680 jobs through the development of five sites around Leeds.

Keyland said the proposals would also lead to the development of 560 homes and more than 1.1m sq ft of commercial employment space.

Keyland, which is the property trading arm of Kelda Group and sister-company to Yorkshire Water, said the plans were in keeping with Leeds Local Plan 2040, which will help to shape planning policy in Leeds in areas ranging from housing to transport.

The sites earmarked for development are Dunningley Lane in Tingley, Astley Lane in Swillington, Moor Road in Bramhope, Shadwell Grange in Roundhay and Hough Side Road in Pudsey.

The sites are a mix of former Yorkshire Water land, Keyland planning promotion agreement sites and joint venture sites.

Luke Axe, the land and planning director at Keyland Developments, said: “Sustainable development is at the heart of everything we do, so we take time to thoughtfully understand, measure and manage the impact of our developments and how they can bring the most benefits and value to the region. The delivery of these five developments will significantly support Leeds City Council’s vision and strategic objectives for the region’s future.”

A spokesman said each site has been promoted through the Leeds Local Plan 2024 consultation process.

Keyland has been operating across Yorkshire for 30 years, regenerating Yorkshire Water’s redundant sites. The team also works alongside independent landowners to overcome obstacles to development.
